GurSikhia Program

Sikh Mission of Virginia (SMV) offers world-class Gurmat Studies through their GurSikhia Program to address the growing needs of diaspora Sikh adults, parents, professionals and growing Sikh and Punjabi student communities from around United States of America and the world.

Our volunteers come from diverse backgrounds and geographical locations to share their knowledge and experiences to provide mentorships in the domains of Gurbani and Kirtan (Spiritual Studies), Gurmukhi Boli (Language & Script) and Gurmat Virsa (History & Culture). These classes are offered on Saturdays via both in-person as well as virtual platform and instructional methods to individuals, irrespective of religion, caste, creed, gender, color, age, sexual orientation and nationality.

We strive to raise the bar of instructional design (“education”) and lay the foundation of “Think-Tank” mindset where open, transparent and productive discussions (“Vichar”) are encouraged amongst students to develop future global leaders that remain engaged and successful in endeavors across diverse professional fields, intellectual domains, and market sectors.

We welcome members of community to get involved as volunteers to help this collective communal effort.
