Empowering Sikh community and youth towards Global Leadership for a brighter future of World.

Supporting education and community service through Simran, Sewa and Sharing.

Sikh Mission of Virginia (SMV) is a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit organization, based in the historic town of Warrenton in Virginia USA.

We welcome all children and families to join and participate as the motivation behind this initiative is to encourage our next generation to understand, love and cherish the GurShabd (Holy message or "Gurbani") of the Nanaks encapsulated in the Holy Infinite Wisdom compilation known as Guru Granth Sahib, adopt truthful living through thought and action, and follow Sikhi way of life to impact the world with positive uplifting harmonious energy.

This organization is dedicated to children and their future. We welcome all kids to participate in the leadership series, where the kids enjoy growing through various facets of the organization, while being mentored in various roles by the elders.

Recognize all Humanity as One Race.

Sikh Mission of Virginia (SMV) offers tranquility and a peaceful congregation environment at Sikh Gurduara Warrenton where members of Sikh and local communities reflecting various faiths, sit together to enjoy the melodious sermons of Nanak (Mehls), spiritually elevated by Raags (Raga or music) compiled by Guru Arjan Sahib ji.

The memorable moments are generated by the children of all ages present in the congregation, who share Gurbani and sing Kirtan, perform Chaur Sahib sewa, Recite Ardaas (supplication), distribute Degh (Prasad or sweet pudding) and serve Langar (Food prepared in Community kitchen) to the congregation. Following the Divine Message of Nanak - “Recognize all Humanity s One Race” (Tvai Prasad Swaiye, 15), everyone and anyone is welcome to join us in the Gurduara congregation services, irrespective of religion, color, belief system, age, gender, caste, creed, sexual orientation or nationality,

As you approach the Gurdwara Sahib, we welcome you to visit Nishan Sahib (Sikh Flag of Freedom and Sovereignty).

Leadership through GurSikhia Program

We introduced bespoke GurSikhia Program to address the growing needs of diaspora Sikh adults, parents, professionals and growing Sikh and Punjabi student communities from around United States of America and the world.

From Gurbani and Kirtan (Spiritual Studies) to Gurmukhi Boli (Language & Script) and Gurmat Virsa (History & Culture) via both in-person as well as virtual platform and instructional methods, we strive to raise the bar of instructional design (“education”) and lay the foundation of “Think-Tank” mindset (“Vichar”) amongst children to develop future global leaders that remain engaged and successful in endeavors across diverse professional fields, intellectual domains, and market sectors.

SMV offers various services to support the growing community needs, including but not limited to, Akhand Path sewa, Sehaj Path sewa , Sukhmani Sahib group recitation sewa, Birthday celebrations, Anand Karaj (wedding) sewa, Antam Sanskaar (death/funeral) sewa and pickup ride sewa/services.
